MD.emu (Genesis Emulator) is an advanced open-source emulator supporting Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, Sega CD, and Master System/Mark III games. It features a minimalist UI focusing on low audio and video latency, compatible with a wide range of devices from Xperia Play to modern phones like Nvidia Shield and Pixel. Currently, Sega CD support is in beta. Key features include support for .bin, .smd, .gen, and .sms file formats with optional ZIP, RAR, or 7Z compression, SVP chip emulation for Virtua Racing, CD emulation requiring BIOS files, and support for multiple audio formats. MD.emu offers 6-button controller and 4-player multitap support, gun peripherals like Menacer and Justifier, cheat code support, configurable on-screen controls, and Bluetooth/USB gamepad compatibility with popular controllers. It does not include ROMs, which users must provide, and supports Android's storage access framework for flexible file handling. Development is ongoing with updates and issue tracking available on GitHub.
