Speech to Text (Voice Recognition) is a simple, fast browser extension that converts spoken words into editable text. It supports two engines: the built-in HTML5 Web Speech API for live, real-time mic transcription, and the Whisper AI engine for more accurate, offline transcriptions. Open the extension, grant microphone permission, and tap the big microphone icon to start. Captured text appears in the top text area for quick copy/paste (Ctrl+C). Whisper AI requires an initial download (~280MB) and, once loaded, runs fully offline and accepts drag-and-drop audio files (split large files into small chunks). The Web Speech API does not support file drag-and-drop. The extension has no background activity when closed. For bug reports, visit the add-on homepage.
